If you would like to have a more green and efficient energy supply, there are several companies where "green electricity" powered through, for example, wind or solar power, are used. Here are some of the best companies and tariffs:

Good EnergyGood Energy

Good Energy’s 100% renewable tariff is perhaps the most energy efficient option open to you. It is an independent green energy company which uses 100% green electricity. The price of Good Energy is around 30% higher than the average ‘brown’ electricity on the market, and whilst being the greenest option, it is also the most expensive.

British GasBritish Gas

The cheapest green energy tariff available is British Gas’ Zero Carbon tariff which also uses 100% green electricity, and additionally contributes to a green fund.

ecotricityEcotricity

This is another independent green energy company which is a large investor in wind turbines and also uses 100% green electricity. The tariff is called New Energy Plus.

Green Energy UKGreen Energy UK

Green Energy UK’s Green Energy 100 tariff uses 100% green electricity. The slightly cheaper Green Energy +10 tariff uses 10% green electricity above obligation.

The planetsaver tariff with Utilita uses 100% green electricity and also offers incentives for the energy efficient customer.
